Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000ft 16600 Discontinued 2005 [Preowned]
Overview
The Sea-Dweller is part of the Rolex Professional watches specializing in diving. It was initially introduced in the 1960s as a specialty watch to dive deeper than the Submariner. These watches were designed to be for the hardcore divers in mind - with missions or purposes for deep dives, unlike the Submariner.
The Sea-Dweller range has been around for 50 years and pre-dates the origins of the Deep Sea Dweller which was only introduced in 2008. However, the Sea-Dweller shares similar traits and features such as a helium escape valve, thicker case profile and more recently a larger case diameter as compared to the Submariner.
When Deep Sea Dweller was introduced in 2008, the Sea-Dweller 4000ft (reference 16600) was removed from the catalogue an discontinued.
This particular reference is the 16600 and is a discontinued reference.
