The Rolex Day-Date was first released in 1956 - represents the flagship collection from Rolex.
The Day-Date was also referred to as the President, as it was associated as the watch being worn by then US President. So was the history of the watch, being worn by not only US Presidents, but leaders and captains of industry.
The Day-Date 40 was introduced in 2016 with a smaller case (previously 41mm Daydate II), newer movement (70hrs with parachrom spring) and a new 60th anniversary green-olive dial.
The reference 228239 is the current Day-Date in 40mm.
