Rolex GMT Master II "Sprite" Jubilee 126720VTNR 2026

Overview 

The 126720VTNR is the GMT-Master II that required Rolex to solve an engineering problem before it could exist. Repositioning the crown to 9 o'clock — the first left-hand production GMT from Rolex in decades — meant re-engineering the Calibre 3285's date disc orientation from the ground up. The result is a watch built on a genuinely distinct movement variant, not a cosmetic rearrangement of an existing reference.

Oystersteel case, 40mm, with a green and black Cerachrom bezel — the Sprite colour combination, first carried by the reference 1675 and reissued here in ceramic. The dial is black, the 24-hour GMT hand in green against the black chapter ring. Rolex paired the 126720VTNR with the Jubilee bracelet, and the choice is structural: the left-hand crown shifts the visual weight of the case leftward, and the Jubilee's five-link construction — alternating polished and brushed finish — balances it in a way the Oyster's wider links would not. On the Jubilee, the watch reads as a coherent, integrated piece.

The movement is the Calibre 3285, Rolex's GMT-specific automatic with a 70-hour power reserve, Chronergy escapement, and independently adjustable local hour hand — set forward or back in one-hour increments without interrupting the seconds or the home time. The crown-at-9 configuration required a redesigned date disc layout specific to this reference, an engineering consequence that distinguishes the 3285 inside the VTNR from the standard calibre. Certified as a Superlative Chronometer to ±2 seconds per day.

The 2024 introduction of the 126710GRNR divided the green-and-black GMT market into two distinct audiences: the GRNR serves the buyer who wants the colour story in a conventional right-hand layout; the VTNR serves the collector for whom the engineering distinction is itself the reason. We are currently seeing the Sprite's pricing settle at levels that reflect this segmentation — the novelty premium of 2022 and 2023 has exited, and demand now rests on genuine preference for this reference over its alternatives.
