Overview
The Explorer II was introduced in 1970s when it was introduced for cave explorers, jungle and polar explorers - whereby it was difficult to distinguish between day and night in these places.
The Explorer II's unique feature was a 4th hand and a 24hour marker bezel - which acts as a AM/PM indicator. Only in the newer references - did the 4th hand had the ability to tell a second time-zone.
The reference 16570 is the previous Explorer II. Introduced since 1989 and discontinued in 2011. This particular 16570 is a version 4 - which marks the last version produced. Its main characteristics are : Super-Luminova, no-holes case, rehaut chapter ring and an upgraded calibre 3186 - with parachrom hairspring.
This reference is now discontinued.
