Rolex Submariner No-Date 124060

Overview 

The Submariner No-Date was enlarged from 40mm to 41mm in 2020 with the introduction of the 124060, matching the case size of the date variant for the first time. That change also brought the Calibre 3230 — a movement without a date module — giving the no-date its own calibre identity, distinct from the date model's 3235.

The case is 41mm Oystersteel with the Submariner's characteristic downward-sloping lugs and soldered bracelet links. The dial is black with Chromalight-filled applied indices; no date window, which keeps the dial symmetrical and uninterrupted at 3 o'clock. The bezel is black unidirectional Cerachrom with platinum-applied 60-minute graduation markers. For buyers who find the Cyclops magnifier an unwanted interruption of the dial, the no-date is the correct specification.

Calibre 3230, 70-hour power reserve. Because there is no date module, the movement runs at lower height than the 3235, influencing the caseback thickness and the overall wrist profile slightly.

The 124060 sits RM8,000 below the date version in current retail, and the secondary gap is consistent. Buyers choosing between the two are making a configuration decision, not a value decision — whether the date function justifies the visual disruption at 3 o'clock. Most buyers who hold the no-date long-term made a deliberate dial-preference choice. That preference is stable, and no-date Submariners have historically held their secondary value well relative to date variants.
