Rolex Deep Sea Dweller 44mm 136660DBLUE
Overview
The 136660DBLUE was designed around a single engineering objective: survive 3,900 metres of pressure. The case architecture required to meet that — the Ringlock System, a 5.5mm domed sapphire crystal, a grade 5 titanium caseback, a 44mm width — makes no concession to wearing comfort. This is the technical extreme of Rolex's dive watch programme.
The case is 44mm Oystersteel with a titanium caseback and the Ringlock System — a nitrogen-pressurised internal ring that reinforces the caseback against implosion at depth. The dial is the D-Blue gradient: deep blue at the top transitioning to black at the lower section, with "DEEPSEA" text in green at 6 o'clock. The 5.5mm domed sapphire crystal is visually distinctive when viewed from above or at angle. On the wrist, the case extends below the wrist line due to its thickness — this is not a discreet watch, and it is not intended to be.
Calibre 3235, 70-hour power reserve. The movement itself is standard issue; the engineering distinction of this reference is entirely in the case.
The 136660DBLUE occupies a different buyer profile from the rest of the dive range. Few owners dive to 3,900 metres; the watch sells on the engineering story and the D-Blue dial's visual identity. Secondary pricing has held at a modest discount to retail — the buyer universe is specific, but demand within it is consistent. Brand new, unworn, complete with box and papers dated March 2026, at RM65,500.
