Richard Mille RM030 Titanium 2023 [Preowned]
Overview
The declutchable rotor is the reason the RM 030 exists as a distinct reference. Richard Mille introduced the mechanism on this model in 2011: once the mainspring reaches optimal tension, the rotor disengages from the winding train and remains decoupled until the reserve drops, holding torque delivery consistent across the power reserve. The point is mechanical, not a brochure line about preventing overwinding.
The case is Grade 5 titanium in the tonneau profile that has defined Richard Mille since the brand's first reference in 2001 — three-part case construction held together by spline screws, in dimensions of approximately 50mm by 42.7mm. The dial is skeletonized with an applied power reserve indicator, oversized date at 12, and function selector at 4 — a pusher that toggles the crown between winding, neutral, and hand-setting modes, replacing the standard pull-out positions. In titanium, without the colour accents or racing-team liveries of the limited variants, this is the most restrained execution of the RM 030 — recognisable as a Richard Mille without declaring itself as one.
The Calibre RMAR1 is an in-house automatic with an approximately 50-hour power reserve, a variable-geometry rotor whose inertia can be adjusted to the wearer's activity level, and the declutchable system as the defining feature. The base plate is Grade 5 titanium, the bridges are PVD-treated, and the dial-side architecture reads almost as one continuous mechanical plane.
Within the RM 030 family, the standard titanium reference sits below the colour-accented and racing-team editions in secondary value, but it is the configuration that ages best — no team affiliation to date the piece, no colour pairing tied to a particular season. The broader market for RM 030 references has stabilised from the 2021–2022 peaks; we are seeing complete sets with recent papers trading at levels that reflect mechanical and brand value rather than speculative cycle. Buyers acquiring now are paying for the watch, not the moment. This piece is preowned in excellent condition, complete with original box and papers dated February 2023, at RM690,000.
