Rolex GMT Master II "Sprite" Oyster 126720VTNR
Overview
The left-hand crown that defines the 126720VTNR required Rolex to re-engineer the Calibre 3285's date disc orientation and rework the case architecture to place both the crown and date aperture at 9 o'clock. That engineering consequence is why this reference exists as a distinct movement variant, not a reskinned 126710. The result is a watch that divides opinion cleanly — you either find the configuration purposeful or unfamiliar, and very few buyers land in between.
The case is Oystersteel, 40mm, with a green and black Cerachrom bezel. The dial is black with applied Mercedes hands and hour markers; the 24-hour GMT hand is green. This example is on the Oyster bracelet — the three-link configuration that gives the VTNR a more tool-watch character than the Jubilee variants. On the Oyster, the visual asymmetry of the left-hand crown is more pronounced: the right side of the case reads as clean and uninterrupted, the left carries both crown and date window. For buyers who find the Jubilee too dressed for this reference, the Oyster is the correct pairing.
Calibre 3285, 70-hour power reserve. The crown-at-9 configuration required a redesigned date disc layout relative to the standard calibre — a production distinction specific to this reference.
The Oyster reference sits below the Jubilee in both retail and secondary pricing, making it the more accessible entry into the VTNR. We are currently seeing Sprite pricing settle into genuine collector demand; the novelty premium has cleared, and buyers acquiring now are doing so at levels that reflect the watch rather than its moment of release. Brand new, unworn, complete with box and papers dated March 2026, at RM67,500.
