Overview
Tudor discontinued the Royal in 2026, ending a production run of roughly five years. The 28500 is the all-steel, 38mm expression — the configuration that made the most direct argument: an integrated bracelet, a notched bezel, and an in-house movement at a price point well below any integrated-bracelet piece in Rolex's catalogue. On the secondary market, discontinuation changes the calculus; this is now a finite reference rather than a replenishable one.
The case is 38mm stainless steel, sized to sit between the 41mm sports pieces and the smaller dress watches without fully committing to either. The notched bezel alternates polished and satin-brushed segments — 24 notches that give the Royal its immediately recognisable profile and differentiate it from anything else in Tudor's current range. The silver dial is the most versatile configuration in the 28500 family: no strong colour story, standard date window at 3 o'clock, and markers that read without demanding attention. The integrated bracelet follows the case geometry with polished centre links and brushed outer links.
The movement is Tudor's in-house Calibre T601 — an automatic calibre with a 38-hour power reserve. Water resistance is 100 metres via screw-down crown. For an integrated-bracelet piece at this price point, it represents a value entry into the Tudor brand.
The Royal's discontinuation puts remaining stock in a different position than it held at retail — clean examples with complete sets and recent papers are the last of a short run rather than commodity inventory.
