Zenith Chronomaster El Primero 03.2040.400/69.C494 Discontinued

Overview 

The Zenith El Primero is one of the most popular chronographs ever made. The El Primero was introduced in 1969 and since then many iterations of watches and dials were made. Its popularity lies in its origin - as it was a superior chronograph of its time which lead it to be used by many different models; and even the Rolex Daytona.

One of those most popular original Zenith El Primero models - was the original one with the Tri-Color dial. However this was discontinued and there modern models did not feature this Tri-Color dial again until 2013.

This particular reference features the original Tri-Color dial, which was never available in 42mm until 2013. The 42mm diameter of the watch allows the watch to feel like a sport chronograph - especially handsome silver dial with Tri-colors. It also allows the date window to be at 6'o clock (rather than the traditional 4:30 position). 

This particular reference is now discontinued and no longer produced. The newer model is now in 38mm.
