The Cartier Santos Dumont is part of Cartier's Santos de Cartier collection, which is known for its iconic square case design and sophisticated aesthetic. This particular collection pays homage to the aviation pioneer Alberto Santos Dumont.
The Santos Dumont "Le 14 Bis" was released in 2020 Watch & Wonders - and celebrates the flight made by Santos-Dumont in 1906 when he became the first aviator to complete a manned powered flight of 220m. To celebrate the feet, the outline of the aircraft is engraved on the caseback - along with the 500 pieces limited edition mark.
The watch has an interesting combination of yellow gold bezel with a dark grey dial; stainless steel case. The dial is dark grey with white printed roman numerals which is rather unique. The watch has the mechanical Calibre 430MC powering the watch - which is sets it apart from the normal Santos Dumont which comes usually with a quartz movement.
The watch was released as a limited edition of 500 pieces and all are sold out.
