The Cartier Santos Dumont is part of Cartier's Santos de Cartier collection, which is known for its iconic square case design and sophisticated aesthetic. This particular collection pays homage to the aviation pioneer Alberto Santos Dumont.
The Santos Dumont with Black Lacquer, was a recent release in 2023, and was inspired by a 1920s watch with the same lacquer bezel. This particular motif and decoration gives it a Parisian vintage feeling, which is unique it the line up of the Cartier Santos.
There were 3 materials introduced - platinum and gold were limited editions, while the steel models (the one in this example), comes with black lacquer finishing. Another interesting finishing would be the dial, which was given the concentric cube motif.
The combination of the black lacquer case, black dial with an alligator black strap, complements each other elegantly and perfectly.
