The Ming 37.07 Monolith is a bold evolution in Ming's growing portfolio, offering a distinct departure from its predecessor, the 37.07 Mosaic. Though both share identical dimensions—38mm in diameter and 10.9mm thick—the Monolith feels entirely different due to its interaction with light. While the Mosaic was luminous and reflective, the Monolith’s matte black DLC coating and bead-blasted finishes create a subtle, shadowy presence, emphasizing the watch’s contours rather than reflecting its surroundings. Despite its size, the watch wears thinner than its dimensions suggest, visually appearing closer to 7mm and giving prominence to the dial.
Ming, a brand founded by watch enthusiasts in 2017, quickly gained recognition for its modern, minimalist designs paired with top-tier craftsmanship. The 37.07 Monolith represents this ethos perfectly. Its dial introduces a dark grey Super-LumiNova base on a blackened brass layer, overlaid with a partially transparent mosaic on a sapphire crystal. The hands, pad-printed with Super-LumiNova X1, ensure excellent legibility while maintaining Ming’s signature visual depth and reflective inversion.
