Overview 

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore models are part of AP's more sportier and masculine version of the Royal Oak. Introduced in 1993 it was a hit amongst collectors, projecting a more modern version of a classic design.

The Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph 44mm was introduced in 2011. Spotting a new 44mm case, with newly designed push buttons and a transparent caseback to display the new AP 3126 calibre. This reference quickly became a favorite amongst the AP 44mm models.

In 2012, Audemars Piguet introduced the Michael Schumacher edition which celebrates the most successful Formula 1 racer at the time. Keep in mind that in this period, AP were quite involved with automotive racing - with a number of Grand Prix related editions. 

The Michael Schumacher reference came in Titanium where 1000 pieces were made. The case is made of titanium whilst the bezel was a single piece of ultra-hard Ceramic and Metal alloy - also known as Cermet. This material was used in one prior model - the Jarno Trulli edition. 

The watch design features many aesthetics taken from the automotive racing world. The dial features 7 stars for the Schumacher's 7 world GP titles (2 with Benetton in blue, and 5 with ferrari in red). The minute markers resembles a chequered flag. The bezel also features 8 lug nut designs.

This reference is now discontinued and no longer produced.
