The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona is one of the most popular line of professional watches to celebrate Rolex's love with automotive racing. The Rolex Daytona is considered a classic and is easily one of the most recognised models by Rolex.
The Rolex Daytona was introduced in 1955 and many references have been introduced since, with a new improved reference introduced every numbers of years.
The reference 126518LN is the current Daytona since 2023. This model supersedes the previous version 116518LN reference.
The key updates on the reference 126500LN - is a reduced thickness to 13.3mm (from 14.5mm). The case went through a complete redesign and feels more ergonomic on the wrist. The cerachrom bezel now has an alloy ring flanking the insert - which is closer to the vintage Rolex design. The dial has been redesigned - with smaller indexes and modified proportions on overall. The movement has been updated to calibre 4131 - improving the power reserve and durability of the watch.
The 126518LN is the current reference of the Cosmograph Daytona and currently is in production. This particular dial is known as the Paul Newman dial - it features a combination of matte black dial with champagne sub-dials - with red accents which accentuate the sportiness of the watch. This particular dial reference is highly sought after.
